Blue what ?

Blue-Ray is the newest form of media. With its high definition picture and lowering price it is surely starting to replace DVD technology. The huge storage capacity of a Blue-Ray disc makes it extremely attractive. Holding between 25 Gigabytes (single sided) and 50 Gigabytes (double sided) Blue-Ray discs can be used for any purpose. They can be used to back up a computer or burn around 9 hours of HD video. Plus not only do you get all this, but you also still have the ability to play an old DVD!

Blue-Ray will become a part of Chautauqua Hosting & Designs continued excellence in the field of customer satisfaction. Beginning in the summer of 2010 we will be able to burn all your 8mm / 16mm / VHS onto Blue-Ray discs!

Helping your Hard Drive

The best way to increase the life span of your hard drive is to keep it cool. There are many ways for your drive to overheat and then crash, losing all your valuable saved data! Most frequently its a matter of dust blocking the air flow in your computer. One quick, easy and cheap way to increase air flow is to install a fan. Computers all have at least one fan. This fan expels warm dangerous air, and draws in cool air. There are many different types of fans that all have unique purposes. Some fans provide air to the whole computer while others work just on the hard drive. Below I have prepared a set of instructions to install a hard drive fan.

Tools needed: anti-static wrist strap or gloves, screwdriver, can of compressed air, and a flashlight (optional)

1) Prepare your self and computer by putting on your anti-static wrist strap or gloves, then remove the side of the computer case.
2) Carefully locate and remove your hard drive and its connections and place it on a flat surface. At this point you should have something similar to the picture below

Remember: This is your hard drive, it holds all the data, pictures and work that you hold near and dear to you. You should always be gentle to preserve it.

3) Locate the holes around the top edges of the hard drive
4) Align holes on the hard drive with those of the fan
5) Use supplied screws to attach the fan. Below is a picture of what it should look like now.

6) Place the hard drive back into the computer and reconnect all connections, including the one for the new fan.
7) Before closing your case use your can of compressed air to clean out the inside of your computer.
8) Enjoy the benefits of your new fan!
